Mary's Magical Place

Mary’s Magical Place, located in Hendersonville, Tennessee, was the first all-inclusive playground in Sumner County designed for, but not limited to, children with special needs. Adults from all ability levels are also invited to experience Mary’s Magical Place with their loved ones!

Mary’s Magical Place pays homage to Mary Elizabeth McAuley, who had an infectious smile and was much-loved by her community. Mary was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy early in her life, which led to her being wheelchair-bound. Most playgrounds that Mary encountered were unable to accommodate her wheelchair; this meant Mary wasn’t able to enjoy playgrounds in the same way her brothers were able to play.
